ST. LOUIS (June 3, 2025) - Ally Sentnor recorded the first multiple-goal match of her career and Lynn Biyendolo followed that up with a brace of her own to lift the United States Women’s National Team to a 4-0 win over Jamaica, extending the program’s undefeated streak against the Reggae Girlz to six and giving the United States back-to-back clean sheets.
The victory at Energizer Park in St. Louis concludes a high-flying, successful window for the USWNT. A few days ago on May 31, the USA defeated China PR 3-0 in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Tuesday marked the second straight appearance in the starting XI for Naomi Girma. The stalwart center back returned to camp for this FIFA window after injuries held her back from international action during the first three events of this year. A world-class defender highly regarded by her teammates, Girma wore the captain’s armband for the first time from the opening kick of a USWNT match. Emily Fox, coming off winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League title with Arsenal, accompanied Girma in the defense.
With 113 caps between them, Fox and Girma brought balance to a starting backline that featured a pair of fresh 25-year-old defenders. Kerry Abello earned her first cap for the USWNT, becoming the 19th player to debut for the senior team under head coach Emma Hayes, while Tara McKeown earned her sixth cap and fifth career start.
Focused on a quick start, the United States was on the front foot early and piled up a big advantage in shots and possession over the match, though perhaps the squad was slightly too eager at times with the final pass.
With the United States knocking on the door, the passes did connect beautifully in the 19th minute to produce the opening goal. Midfielder Lily Yohannes, playing her final game for the USA as a 17-year-old, controlled the ball near the top of the box and opened up the field with a cross toward the far post. Fox ran under the service and, with a first-time touch, served the ball on a platter for Sentnor in the area. Sentnorstruck it first time with her right foot, bouncing it under a closing defender and into the left side netting to give the United States the early lead.
Sentnor’s second goal arrived in the 29th minute. While forward Alyssa Thompson, Yohannes and midfielder Sam Coffey combined in a triangle, Sentnor slipped into the box, sneaking into perfect position to clean up Thompson’s deflected shot. Sentnor’s goals came just two minutes apart.
Up 2-0, the United States kept the foot on the pedal to start the second half. Right out of the gate, Catarina Macarion early caught Sentnoras the team’s scoring leader this year after a promising sequence. The central striker unloaded a fierce shot on frame that required an outstretched reach from Jamaica goalkeeper Liya Brooksto push it over the crossbar. The United States followed up the play with back-to-back corner kicks, continuing to put heat on the Reggae Girlz.
Macario was soon taken off in a triple substitution, replaced by Lynn Biyendolo in the 57th minute. Lindsey Heaps and Lo’eau LaBonta entered the match in the 58th.
Those reinforcements would have an immediate impact. Midfielder Claire Hutton, playing in just her third cap, rose to meet the service on the corner kick and directed a testing header on frame. Brooks made the initial stop, but Biyendolo stayed with the rebound, expertly volleying home from close range to extend the lead to 3-0 in the 60th minute.
In the 80th minute, Abello very nearly scored a goal in her debut. After Jamaica intercepted her pass to Michelle Cooper from the left wing, Abello hustled after the ball and tracked it down. She regained possession, found some space, then ripped a shot from the laces of her left boot, but the confident strike drifted wide to the right.
In the match’s dying moments, the United States showed increased zeal to add to the goal total, continuing to attack, which rewarded Biyendolo with her second goal of the night.
After the pair nearly connected minutes earlier, Avery Patterson chased down a ball on the right wing and sent a wonderful, rolling cross into the box for Biyendolo, who was running hard into the box. Biyendolo’s left foot delivered from point-blank range, racking up the second brace of the night.
The crowd of 17,689 celebrated Becky Sauerbrunn Bobblehead Night, honoring the St. Louis native for her decorated 16-year international career. The hometown tribute before the match recognized the two-time FIFA World Cup champion, Olympic gold medalist and longtime USWNT captain, who announced her retirement in December.
Hayes’s squad returns to action later this month for the second June window. First, it’s back-to-back friendlies against Ireland on June 26 in Commerce City, Colorado and June 29 at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. Then, the USWNT closes out their summer with the program’s debut in the Allstate Continental Clásico when they clash with Canada at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on July 2.

USA – Lynn Biyendolo (Avery Patterson), 88th minute: Avery Patterson and Lynn Biyendolo nearly connected twice earlier, and the two worked together to find the back of the net with just a few minutes left. Patterson raced to chase down a ball sent over the top, then sent a low cross on the ground into the box. Biyendolo, running hard at the goal, slammed it home to secure her brace. USA 4, JAM 0
Additional Notes:
- The result adds another win to the column for the United States in the all-time series between these two Concacaf nations. The U.S. has now won six straight meetings against Jamaica – all shutouts – and has outscored the Reggae Girlz 35-0 in those matches.
- Head coach Emma Hayes rolled with a younger lineup, making six changes from the lineup against China PR on May 31. The starting XI against Jamaica averaged just over 20 caps and included six players with nine or fewer caps.
- It was the second least experienced lineup – caps wise – for the USWNT in the last 24 years.
- Defender Kerry Abello earned her first cap for the USWNT, becoming the 275th player to represent the USA. She becomes the 19th player to debut for the senior team under head coach Emma Hayes.
- The goals for Ally Sentnor were the third and fourth of her USWNT and 2025, making her the USA’s leading scorer this year.
- Sentnor notched her first-ever multi-goal game for the USWNT. The last USWNT player to score multiple goals in a match was Naomi Girma against Argentina on October 30, 2024.
- Emily Fox recorded her fifth career assist on the opening goal in the 19th minute scored by Sentnor.
- The goals for Lynn Biyendolowere the 23rd and 24th of her career.
- Lo’eau LaBonta earned her second cap for the United States. Last week against China PR, LaBonta became the oldest player to debut in USWNT history.
- Avery Patterson made her fourth appearance after coming on as a sub in the 80th minute, and her assist to Biyendolowas the first of her USWNT career.
- Phallon Tullis-Joyce earned her third cap and made her third start for the USWNT. She recorded back-to-back clean sheets after also starting the match against China PR on May 31. This makes her the first goalkeeper since Alyssa Naeher to earn shutouts in each of her first three caps.
