It was a busy weekend in the NWSL for those in the U.S. Women’s National Team talent pool. Several players scored in Week 19 with six weeks left in the regular season.
The 2025-26 Concacaf Champions W Cup was back with group stage play, and forward Trinity Rodman scored a goal in the Washington Spirit’s impressive 7-0 win over the El Salvador club Alianza Women FC, the Spirit’s first match on international soil.

Trinity Rodman, Croix Bethune Win in Historic Match
After the Washington Spirit’s victory in the Concacaf Champions W Cup, where Rodman scored off the bench, the club met Bay FC in Matchday 19 and made history.
The match was played at Oracle Park, and the more than 40,000 fans in attendance go down in history as the largest stand-alone women’s professional league event in the United States.
Rodman and midfielder Croix Bethune both started, and Bethune scored her first goal of the season in the 39th minute to give the Spirit a 2-0 lead. Bay FC made a valiant comeback effort, but Washington came out with the 3-2 victory to keep its No. 2 spot in the NWSL standings.
Alyssa Thompson Calls Game
Alyssa Thompson scored the game-winner in Angel City FC’s 1-0 victory over the Orlando Pride.
Thompson broke the deadlock in the 86th minute with a right-footed beauty from the left side after she crossed up a Pride defender to create space. Orlando wouldn’t find the last-minute equalizer, giving Angel City its fifth win of the season to stay in playoff contention.
It was the forward’s sixth goal of the season. She is second in scoring for Angel City behind Riley Tiernan with seven.
Emma Sears Nets Seventh Goal of Season
Emma Sears has also been a forward on fire this season for Racing Louisville FC. Sears recorded her seventh goal of the season in Louisville’s 1-0 win against the San Diego Wave.
Sears recorded the lone goal of the match in the 59th minute off an assist from Ella Hase. Sears caught a cross at the right side of the box and launched a right-footed shot to the far post. She gave Louisville the win and three points, as Racing sits in seventh place in the league, vying for a higher position in the NWSL standings.
Yazmeen Ryan Steals and Scores
In the last few weeks, Yazmeen Ryan has made some show-stopping moves for the Houston Dash. First, her impressive attack led to a rebound goal against the North Carolina Courage. Now, she scored her second goal in exciting fashion.
Ryan picked off a back pass intended for Seattle Reign’s goalkeeper and scored with Seattle’s defense unprepared for the attack. It was the first goal of the match in the 47th minute. Seattle would later find the equalizer in the 65th minute to finish the game in a 1-1 draw.
It was Ryan’s second goal of the season as the Dash continued its fight to stay in playoff contention on the outside looking in. Houston sits in 11th place, but it’s a tight race with the Dash three points behind spot No. 8.
