Referee of the Year Award
The Referee of the Year awards will be determined via vote from Professional Referee Organization (PRO) leadership, U.S. Soccer National, Professional and International Referees, Referee Committee Members, National Referee Coaches, U.S. Soccer Board of Directors, Athletes’ Council and U.S. Women’s and Men’s National Team players that earned a cap in 2025.

2025 U.S. Soccer Men's Referee of the Year Award Bios
Logan Brown (FIFA Assistant Referee)
An MLS Assistant Referee since 2015 and member of the FIFA Panel since 2020, Logan Brown was appointed to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. He worked three matches in the Concacaf Champions Cup, two in the Concacaf Gold Cup, one Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifying contest, one Leagues Cup match and officiated 22 MLS games so far in 2025.
Rosendo Mendoza (PRO Referee)
An MLS Referee since 2018, Mendoza has officiated 15 MLS games. He served as Referee for the MLS All-Star Game and as Fourth Official for the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Cory Richardson (FIFA Assistant Referee)
An MLS Assistant Referee since 2018 and member of the FIFA Panel since 2022, Richardson worked three games in the Concacaf Gold Cup and Leagues Cup, two matches in the Concacaf Champions Cup and one Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifying match. He was the AR in 25 MLS games and was named the MLS Assistant Referee of the Year.
Nick Uranga (FIFA ASSISTANT Referee)
An MLS Assistant Referee since 2016 and a FIFA Assistant Referee since 2020, Uranga worked three games in the Concacaf Gold Cup, two Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifying matches, and one game each in the Concacaf Champions Cup and Central American Cup. He has officiated 21 MLS games so far in 2025.
Joe Dickerson (FIFA Referee)
An MLS Referee since 2017 and member of the FIFA Panel since 2023, Dickerson was appointed to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. Dickerson worked two matches each at the Concacaf Gold Cup and Concacaf Champions Cup, and one game each in Concacaf Final Round World Cup Qualifying and the Leagues Cup. As of Nov. 25, he officiated 15 MLS games.

2025 U.S. Soccer Women's Referee of the Year Award Bios
Brooke Mayo (FIFA Assistant Referee)
An MLS Assistant Referee since 2020, and member of the FIFA Panel since 2018, Mayo was appointed to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Mayo worked two Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers as well as one Concacaf Champions Cup match. She has officiated 24 MLS matches as of November 25 and was the Assistant Referee for the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Kathryn Nesbitt (FIFA Assistant Referee)
An MLS Assistant Referee since 2015, Nesbitt has been a member of the FIFA Panel since 2016 and was appointed to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Nesbitt worked two Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers as well as Concacaf Champions Cup matches. She has officiated 26 MLS matches as of November 25 and was the Assistant Referee for the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Alyssa Pennington (FIFA Referee)
Pennington has been on the FIFA Panel since 2023 and was assigned to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup where she officiated the semifinal match. Pennington was the center referee for one Concacaf W Qualifying match, one Concacaf W Champions Cup match, one Concacaf Central American Cup match, one Leagues Cup match and two Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship contests. She has officiated one MLS game this year, five NWSL and 12 USL Championship matches.
Tori Penso (FIFA Referee)
An MLS Referee since 2020, and a member of the FIFA Panel since 2021, Penso was assigned as a Referee for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. She has served as center referee for two Final Round Concacaf World Cup Qualifying matches and worked two Concacaf Champions Cup matches. Penso has officiated 18 MLS games and was the referee for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Natalie Simon (FIFA Referee)
Member of the FIFA Panel since 2022, Simon oversaw the NWSL final in 2025. Simon worked one game each in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup, Second Round of Concacaf World Cup Qualifying, Concacaf W Qualifiers and 2025 Leagues Cup. She officiated two MLS games, five NWSL matches and 15 USL Championship games.
