SOCCER AGENTS
SOCCER AGENTS
Effective January 1, 2024, U.S. Soccer enforces the new FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR), which require that any individual acting as a Football Agent within U.S. Soccer’s jurisdiction be licensed by FIFA. To perform Football Agent Services—such as negotiating employment contracts or transfer agreements—agents must first obtain a FIFA license through the official FIFA platform and remain in good standing by meeting ongoing obligations, including continuing education.
In addition to FIFA’s requirements, U.S. Soccer requires all agents operating within the United States to undergo a criminal background check and complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s Training. These requirements are especially critical for agents who represent minors or interact with domestic players, coaches, or clubs. U.S. Soccer reserves the right to deny, suspend, or revoke an agent’s permission to operate within its territory if they fail to meet these standards.
Registrations for the next FIFA Football Agent license exam are now open and will close on March 6, 2026. No registrations will be accepted after the deadline - there are no exceptions. The exam will be held on April 28, 29 & 30, 2026 and May 5, 6, & 7, 2026.
The May 5, 6, & 7, 2026 exam sessions will be opened for registration only once all the April sessions have been fully booked or if they are required for other reasons. All times given are CET, except the exam day.
Anyone who wishes to become a licensed football agent can apply for a license by accessing the FIFA Agent Platform. Instructions can be found here.
The final deadline for submitting medical accommodation requests, changing exam time slot, location and/or language is March 29, 2026.
