VALENCIA, Spain (June 11, 2025) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team ended its international camp with a 3-0 win over Japan powered by a Jamir Johnson brace. The win follows a 2-2 draw against Canada with Canada winning a penalty kick shootout 5-4. In the U.S.’s first match, Chase Adams notched a brace in a 3-2 loss to Sweden.
On June 5, the USA and Sweden spent most of the first half in a scoreless stalemate before Chase Adams struck in the 42nd minute to give the USA a 1-0 halftime lead. Then Adams notched his brace almost immediately after the start of the second half, doubling the USA lead to 2-0 in the 47th minute.
But Sweden quickly responded thanks to a Ludvig Arvidsson tally in the 49th minute. Kevin Filling then equalized for Sweden in the 67th minute before Ahmed Saeed scored the game winner in the 85th minute.

On June 7 against Canada, the U.S. found itself in a two-goal hole early in the match. Canada’s Kevin Kahn converted from the spot to make it 1-0 in the 12th minute. Then Owen Graham-Roache added to the lead in the 15th minute to give Canada a quick 2-0 lead. Ramiz Hamouda pulled the USA back to 2-1 with his 26th-minute tally to send the U.S. into halftime down a goal.
Julian Hall equalized in the 85th minute to make it 2-2 at the end of regulation. The teams then had a penalty shootout, where Canada came away 4-1 winners.

On June 10, the USA finished out camp with a strong 3-0 win over Japan, powered by a brace from Jamir Johnson.
Johnson got the U.S. on the board early, tallying his first goal just nine minutes into the match. Cavan Sullivan doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, pushing the U.S. to a 2-0 halftime lead. On the other side of the break, Johnson completed his brace and put the match away in the 58th minute.
Goalkeepers Aiden Stokes and Jack Kortkamp combined for four saves to keep the clean sheet.
