ATLANTA (June 20, 2025) - U.S. Men’s Deaf Men’s National Team head coach Everett Palache has selected 24 players for the team’s upcoming domestic training camp to be held June 24-29 in Washington, D.C.
This camp serves as the Deaf MNT’s third meeting this year, as the team continues its preparations for the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo in November. The squad features 14 of the players who participated in May’s training camp, including 2023 Male Deaf Player of the Year Chris Bourdon (San Diego, Calif.). Veteran defender Kevin Fitzpatrick (Hopatcong, N.J.) makes his return to the roster for the first time since March’s ADAPTandTHRIVE Invitational. The New Jersey native won 2024 Male Deaf Player of the Year after starting all three matches at the 2024 Deaf Pan American Games in Canoas, Brazil. That competition saw the Deaf MNT earn the bronze medal after a 4-0 victory against Mexico, which qualified the team for the upcoming Deaflympics.
“Since our positive finish in Brazil, we have seen an increase in interest and talent,” Palache said. “This has led to competitive camps and position battles, which continue to elevate the level of our program and put us in a strong position as we prepare for the Deaflympics in Tokyo.”
Nineteen players from Palache’s roster were part of the 2024 Deaf Pan American Games squad, including 16-year-old Daniel De Moura and 19-year-oldBennett Haas. Two players will also make their first camp appearances for the Deaf MNT - defender Phillip Cruz (St. Augustine, Fla.) and Central Arkansas forward Stanley Odoms Jr. (Pflugerville, Texas).
