CHICAGO (Sept. 2, 2023) – Tanner Tessmann has been added to the BioSteel USMNT training camp roster that will prepare for the September international window matches against Uzbekistan and Oman [TICKETS]. The Venezia-based midfielder replaces the injured Johnny Cardoso, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
Tessmann, 21, made his senior USMNT debut in the team’s 7-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan. 31, 2021, in Orlando. An Alabama native along with defender Chris Richardson, he is a product of the FC Dallas youth set-up and won the Golden Ball as the best player in the 2019 U-18/19 Development Academy Playoffs as he helped his team reach the championship match.
U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter selected 24 players who will begin reporting to St. Louis on Sept. 3 for training camp. Both Asian Football Confederation opponents are preparing to compete in the 2023 AFC Asian Cup to be held in Qatar next January.
