• Captained the U.S. Men’s National Team in 64 of his 110 caps during a 12-year international career and tallied 14 career international goals, the most by a USMNT defender

• Represented the USA at the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups and helped lead the USMNT to Gold Cup wins in 2002 and 2007

• Retired from professional soccer in 2014 after a 15-year career that included more than 200 career appearances in England, France, Scotland and the United States

• Amassed 311 caps over the course of her 19-year international career, becoming just the second player in world soccer history to reach 300 international appearances
