- Was the second youngest member of the U.S. squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup where he made substitute appearances in three matches
- Member of the USMNT squad that won the 2019-20 CONCACAF Nations League. Following a nearly two-year absence in the first XI, he started in the 3-2 win against Mexico in the championship match

- Winner of the MLS Supporters Shield and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open titles with Seattle Sounders in 2014, he signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur in August of that season and joined the following January
- Spent four-and-a-half seasons with Newcastle United, making more than 100 appearances for the Magpies and helping them win the EFL Championship in 2017-18 to gain promotion to the Premier League.
- Twice voted to the MLS All-Star squad (2013, 2022) and also won MLS Rookie of the Year (2013)

- Raised by his grandparents Ira Yedlin and Vicki Walton in Seattle
- His partner is Crystal Rodriguez. The couple have one daughter, Seneca, born in September 2021.

- He is one of the youngest players anywhere to invest in a professional soccer team. On May 20, 2021, he joined the ownership group USL Championship side San Diego Loyal SC. The co-founder and Yedlin’s former USMNT teammate Landon Donovan is the manager.
- He’s one-quarter African American, one-quarter Native American and half Latvian
- Changes hairstyles often, a trait he credits to the strict rules regarding how his hair had to look at the high school he attended
