NATIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Prior to the World Cup, moved past Christian Pulisic to set a new record for most minutes played by a USMNT teenager (1,413) during the 1-1 draw at El Salvador in Nations League play on June 14, 2022.

• Has registered both of his assists on two highlight reel goals from Sergiño Dest, the first coming in the 4-1 friendly win against Jamaica (March 25, 2021) and the second in a 2-1 WCQ win against Costa Rica on Oct. 13, 2021.

• Officially committed to the USMNT on March 15, 2021

• Became one of 12 players to appear for the USMNT before their 18th birthday, making his debut in the 0-0 draw at Wales on Nov. 12, 2020.

 

2022 FIFA WORLD CUP QUALIFYING

• Started each of his 10 appearances and registered one assist during qualifying

• Earned Man of the Match honors in the 0-0 draw at Mexico on March 24, 2022

 

CLUB HIGHLIGHTS

• Signed as 16-year-old with Spanish La Liga side Valencia in 2019 and was promoted to the first team for the 2020-21 season.

• Became the second-youngest USMNT player to appear in a domestic European cup final when he took part in the Copa del Rey championship match against Real Valladolid on April 23, 2002

• Made his 52nd La Liga appearance in Valencia’s 1-0 win against Mallorca on Feb. 26, 2022, surpassing Kasey Keller as the USMNT player with the most games played in La Liga.

• Officially joined English Premier League club Arsenal on June 27, 2022 and has served as goalkeeper in the UEFA Europa League and English Cup competitions this season

• Scored his first La Liga goal in a 2-2 draw against Getafe on Nov. 10, 2020.

• Prior to his move to Valencia, he rose through the ranks in the Arsenal Academy from 2012-2019.

 

PERSONAL

• Born to a Ghanaian mother in The Bronx, N.Y., Musah grew up in Castelfranco Veneto, Italy, before moving again with his family to London, England in 2012.

• Musah was eligible to represent England, Ghana, Italy and the United States.

• Speaks four languages: English, Spanish, Italian and Hausa

• Name his cat “Bronx” after the New York City borough which he was born in.

• Represented England from the U-15 to U-18 age groups

• Father’s name is Ibrahim and mother’s name is Amina.

• Is the middle child of five children – has three brothers and one sister.

• Enjoys Indian and Korean food.

• Favorite TV show is “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”
