NaTIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Murphy made one of the most impressive goalkeeper debuts in USWNT history, earning the shutout in a 3-0 victory over Australia in Sydney on November 27, 2021, making eight saves and gobbling up at least a half-dozen crosses in her first cap to become the seventh U.S. goalkeeper to earn a shutout in her debut.
- At 6-foot-1, she is the tallest goalkeeper in USWNT history.
- Earned her first Senior National Team call-up in January of 2017 and became a consistent fixture in camps beginning in 2021, making her international debut later that year.
- Made three appearances – all starts and all shutouts – at the 2022 Concacaf W Championship where she helped the USA qualify for both the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Summer Olympics.
- Went unbeaten through her first nine starts (7W-2D-0L), during which she kept seven clean sheets.
- Recorded her 10th career shutout on April 11, 2023 against the Republic of Ireland, making her the ninth goalkeeper in USWNT history to reach double-digit shutouts.
PREVIOUS WORLD CUP EXPERIENCE
- Was the starting goalkeeper for the USA at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Papua New Guinea where the USA finished fourth.
CLUB HIGHLIGHTS
- After forgoing her final year of college eligibility at Rutgers, Murphy started her pro career in France with Montpellier HSC where she was named to the D1 Féminine Best XI and the top goalkeeper in the league.
- Returned to the USA and NWSL in 2019, signing with Reign FC and playing two seasons under current USWNT head coach Vlatko Andonovski.
- Traded to the North Carolina Courage in October of 2020 along with $140,000 in allocation money in exchange for Crystal Dunn, who was then traded to Portland Thorns FC.
- Had 11 shutouts in 23 games in the 2021 regular season, tying the league record for shutouts in a single season.
PERSONAL
- Daughter of Jill and Mike Murphy, she has one brother, Kyle.
- Majored in Communications at Rutgers where she was a two-time Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year and earned All-American honors.
- Her fiancé, Chris Mirabelli, was a four-time All-American at Rutgers competing in the javelin.
