At an imposing 6-4, Jesse Gonzalez is a young, shot-stopping keeper looking to make a name for himself in the MNT player pool. Born in North Carolina and later moving to the Dallas area, Gonzalez had a successful youth career with local club C.D. Independiente.

He was spotted by FC Dallas at the age of 16 and, owing to his unique combination of speed and size, was asked to join the club’s youth academy. He signed as a Homegrown Player in 2013 and like many fellow Academy alumni, has gone on to established himself as a starter with the club.

THE SWITCH

As a dual-national, Gonzalez first played for the Mexico U-20s, starting in 2015 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, but two years later he made the switch. In 2017, Gonzalez filed a one-time change of association to represent the United States, joining the MNT for the latter stages of the Concacaf Gold Cup.

As a promising young 'keeper with the stats to back it up, he’s looking to achieve additional playing time with the MNT as the team begins tackling the 2022 World Cup Qualifying campaign.
